How to Measure Your Chest Width

What You'll Need:

  • A flexible measuring tape.
  • A mirror or a friend to assist.

Steps:

  1. Stand Upright
Stand with your arms relaxed at your sides. Keep a natural posture to get the most accurate measurement.

  2. Position the Measuring Tape
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, usually across the nipple line. Ensure the tape is level all the way around and parallel to the floor.

  3. Relax Your Breath
Don't hold your breath or puff out your chest. Breathe naturally to ensure the measurement is neither too tight nor too loose.

  4. Adjust and Read
Make sure the tape lies flat and isn't twisted. It should be snug but not compressing your chest. Check the measurement where the tape meets.

  5. Double-Check
For accuracy, repeat the measurement once or twice to ensure consistency.

Additional Tips:

  • If you're measuring for fitted clothing, you can subtract 1-2 cm (or ½ inch) for a closer fit.
  • For looser fits, add 2-3 cm (or 1 inch).

This method ensures you have the correct chest measurement for tailoring, clothing purchases, or fitness tracking.

Please note: US sizes could be different to EU sizes. We therefor recommend the size chart is always consulted before ordering.
